Ohr Surface Finishings is a newly established subsidiary company tasked with managing projects for its parent company, which is headquartered in Central India. This subsidiary will specifically handle operations in Southern India.

Client Needs
The client is looking for a logo that stands out with a distinct and unique identity. The design should embody professionalism and formality while embracing a minimalist aesthetic. Additionally, the logo must be versatile and scalable, ensuring it performs well across both digital platforms and print materials.
Inspiration
I explored competitor and other corporate logos to understand the visual landscape, as the client preferred a design aligned with industry standards. I noticed a strong trend toward lettermark logos predominantly using red or blue colour schemes. Since the parent company’s colour is red, I chose blue for the subsidiary to create a distinct identity while maintaining a professional and cohesive brand family.
Ideation
Since the company’s name is “Ohr,” which means “light” in Hebrew, I wanted to creatively embody the concept of light within the logo. The idea of light in Hebrew represents not just illumination but also guidance, innovation, and clarity. Because the full company name is somewhat long, I decided to focus on creating a lettermark logo using the abbreviation “OSFA".
I presented the client with 3 design concepts.

The logo
At the heart of the logo is a light bulb, symbolising ideation and innovation. This core element reflects the brilliance and creativity that drive OSFA’s work in surface finishing and automation.
The integration of the light bulb within the letter ‘O’ of OSFA turns the letter itself into a vessel - holding and showcasing the light. This design choice emphasises how OSFA embodies forward-thinking solutions.
The acronym ‘OSFA’ stands for Ohr Surface Finishings and Automations, succinctly capturing the company’s identity and the breadth of its expertise.
